Happy Lawnmowing Morning

HAPPY LAWNMOWING MORNING

Sunny morning, break in the rain
They could not wait for another break again
So, with one accord
The men pulled out their lawnmowers
from where they were stored
“Vrmm,Vrmm, Vrmm, Vrmm”
The lawnmowers seemed to beat in unison
The men were dressed
In old boots, pants, caps and vests
They waved old rags to each other
To show motivation from neighbour to neighbour
Even across the gully as far as the eye could see
Men were waving happily
They seemed to be enjoying the sun
It was a morning of great fun
From time to time the women and children appeared
To present refreshments which they had prepared
They were dressed in beautiful reds, yellows and greens
They complemented the beautiful scene
Young boys helped to gather the grass
In this way they helped to ease the task
One by one the sounds of the lawnmowers faded
As the jobs at hand were completed
As we heard the last “Vrmm, Vrmm, Vrmm”
Down came the rain again
